I booked a “pre-ski” massage with Claire this winter. I have always had a massage at the end of the day when I feel drained and sore. This year my PT recommended sourcing a “pre event” style massage to ensure my legs in particular were stretched, and warmed up for skiing. I am now converted. I will be booking Claire again the next time I hit Meribel.

I have always had bad posture, I continually hunch my shoulders and rarely stand tall. I understand how bad this is and it gives me terrible pain in the shoulders and top of my back. Whilst skiing this is a real hindrance. While out in Meribel skiing I saw Claire twice. After my first day skiing, when I was in agony with postural issues, Claire was superb. I booked a 2nd session for the end of my stay so I returned home feeling refreshed and without the usual soreness.

I saw Claire due to tightness in my quads. I found Claire to be extremely knowledgeable, professional and experienced. I would highly recommend.

Sport Massage
/ Deep Tissue

A deep tissue massage is perfectly explained by its name.  The pressure is adjusted to manipulate the deeper tissue layers in the body.

A sports massage is the manipulation of the soft tissue (muscle) in order to prevent or improve sports injuries.

Both are a job for a specially trained sports massage therapist.

Pre & Post
Event Massage

(Pre and Post Ski Massage)

Pre and Post event sports massage is specifically designed to help an athlete perform at their best and recover as quickly and effectively as possible after their event.

*Pre event massage can be carried out anytime from two days to immediately before an event.

*Post event massage should be done as soon as possible after the event.

Pre event massage can

Increase the circulation of blood to the muscles to allow them to be flushed and oxygenated.
Create a state of readiness in the muscles tissues.
Help muscles to relax so the joints can be moved through their full range of motion.
Enable the athlete to focus on their event either by relaxing or by completing their mental preparations

Post event massage can

Help flush out the toxins and lactic acid built up during the exercise
Help return the muscles to a relaxed state
Reduce the risk of next day muscle soreness
Reduce swelling and promote faster healing
Help an athlete with their cool down routine, which is especially good after an event when an athlete is often too tired or excited to cool down properly.
Help an athlete to relax after their event and gives them time to mentally recover from the event.
